I've always been impressed by Alex Webb's approach to street photography – walking around and waiting for the unknown to enter the frame. Interesting that he expects 99% of his photos to be failures.
And so it seems like a foolish mission to try to compile a photo book based on a limited stock of two hundred photos taken during 24 hours in Brussels. If Alex Webb's analysis is right, I can expect to have two half-decent photos for the book — a pointless task, you may say!
So, with this in mind, I offer "24 Hours in Brussels" as an experiment and a testament to the truth of Alex Webb's assessment of what is possible. In that spirit, I see this as an exercise in lowering expectations and recognizing limitations.
